Ein hail Siaradwr Gwadd oedd Denise Bentley, cyd-sylfaenydd a Phrif Swyddog Gweithredol First Love Foundation, elusen sy’n mynd i’r afael â thlodi ac anghyfiawnder cymdeithasol yn Tower Hamlets. Mae Denise hefyd yn Gadeirydd Annibynnol Panel Dinasyddion Banc Lloegr ar gyfer Llundain Fwyaf, yn Gynghorydd i’r Strategaeth Fwyd Genedlaethol a Chomisiynydd Bwyd, Ffermio a Chefn Gwlad.
Hefyd, mynychodd y Dirprwy Brif Weinidog ac Ysgrifennydd y Cabinet dros Newid Hinsawdd a Materion Gwledig, Huw Irranca-Davies AS, ar ddydd Iau, ac ymunodd â drafodaeth.

Bwyd
Roedd y ciniawau yn gydweithrediad rhwng Kevin Hodson a thîm arlwyo’r Drindod Dewi Sant, a Barny Haughton MBE, (cogydd, addysgwr bwyd ac ymgynghorydd arlwyo cynaliadwy) a oedd yn eu galluogi i gael bwyd blasus, cynaliadwy a lleol i’r plât. Diolch, hefyd i Gaws Teifi am gyflenwi’r caws amser cinio dydd Mercher!
Nos Fercher, cynhaliwyd ‘swper cynhaeaf cynhadledd’ ar Fferm Bwlchwernen Fawr, mewn partneriaeth â Patrick a Becky Holden. Paratowyd pryd tri chwrs blasus gan gogydd gwesteiwr ar gyfer y noson, Barny Haughton MBE, gyda’r rhan fwyaf o gynhwysion yn dod o ffermydd lleol.
The 2024 Conference was held on 20-22 November at the University of Wales Trinity St David, in Lampeter.
Our theme was:
‘More Food – More Farmers – More Nature – More Resilience’
Guest Speakers and sessions

Derek Walker, the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales opened the Conference. Recognising food’s importance in achieving well-being is a current focus for Derek and his team.
Our second Guest Speaker was Denise Bentley, the co-founder and CEO of First Love Foundation, a charity tackling poverty and social injustice in Tower Hamlets. Denise is also Independent Chair of the Bank of England’s Citizens Panel for Greater London, Advisor to the National Food Strategy and a Food, Farming and Countryside Commissioner.

The Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs Huw Irranca-Davies MS also attended, joining a discussion on the Thursday.

A feast of nature
Thank you to the Roderic Bowen Library and Archives for opening their doors and putting some of UWTSD’s treasures out for us once again. They are worth a visit!
Food
The lunches were a collaboration between Kevin Hodson and the UWTSD catering team and Barny Haughton MBE, (chef, food educator and sustainable catering consultant) which enabled them to get delicious, sustainable and local food on to the plate. Our thanks also go to Teifi Cheese for supplying the cheese for Wednesday’s lunch!
On Wednesday evening, a ‘conference harvest supper’ was held at Bwlchwernen Fawr, in partnership with Patrick and Becky Holden. Host chef for the evening, Barny Haughton MBE, prepared a delicious three course meal, with most ingredients sourced from local farms.
